 Range Rules & Procedures 

    • Treat every firearm as if it is loaded and keep pointed in a safe direction at all times.

    • If there are issues with any range or the complex, please contact Gunline Shooting staff. 

    • Range hours are from sunrise to sunset Monday-Saturday, Sunday 2:00pm to sunset as long as you have completed the “Range Safety Officer” course.  Non RSO’s are allowed to shoot during normal business hours or if an RSO is present on the facility.

    • Sign in and out of the Gunline Shooting Range at the Pro Shop or Pavilion with each visit. 

    • All Federal, state, and local firearm laws must be obeyed. 

    • Members are allowed to bring guests. Guests require a liability form and a $25 guest fee prior to range use. Guest must stay with the member that brought them. 

    • All members are required to have their membership cards with them anytime they are on the range. All members are required to show their membership card anytime they are asked to and have the right to ask to see any members’ card as well. 

    • Use of Chamber Flags are required for all weapons that are not actively firing on the line. When transporting a firearm to the firing line the firearm must have a chamber flag installed. Chamber Flags are available in the Pro Shop. 

    • Never walk or drive past any closed gates, cables, safety cones or barricades. 

    • When going down range use the “downrange procedures” for the range you are on. This requires visual and verbal confirmation that all firearms are clear with chamber flag installed and other members are off the firing line. No handling of firearms or ammunition while members are down range. Once the range is determined to be secure, with no other persons present downrange only then may firing commence. 

    • Keep all vehicles on the established roads.  Do not drive or park on any sodded grass near the firing lines. 

    • Gunline Shooting Range is a “cold range”. All firearms are to be kept in a safe and empty condition with a chamber flag installed until on the firing line.

    • All members are required to wear eye and hearing protection. 

    • Shoot from authorized firing points only. Each target must have a backstop before engaging. Do not shoot into neighboring property. 

    • Shoot at approved targets only.

    • Always adhere to the 2800 FPS rule. The 2800 FPS rule states that no bullet shall strike any steel target faster than 2800 feet per second.

    • No rifle calibers are allowed on range P. (Pistol Range)

    • No bi-pods with claw feet on shooting benches.

    • 50 BMG are prohibited.

    • L1, L6 & U have a 30 caliber limit, nothing larger than 30 caliber.

    • Do not move targets from their locations. 

    • Shooters must provide their own white spray paint and are required to repaint all targets before they leave the range! The only exceptions will be based on how recently it has rained.  The range has target stands but members must provide their own paper targets and cardboard backing. These items are available at the Pro Shop.

    • Shooting at rocks or any other inappropriate targets that cause ricochets or may start a fire is prohibited. 

    • Shooting any flammable or exploding material is prohibited; this includes Tannerite or any other similar binary compounds. 

    • Hunting and shooting at any wildlife is strictly prohibited everywhere on the Gunline Shooting Range. 

    • Tracer, incendiary and armor-piercing ammunitions are prohibited (this includes “green-tip” or any steel core bullets).

    • Never shoot at Gunline Shooting property or structures. Any props or equipment, which you might use, are to be used only for the purpose for which they were designed, including; tables, chairs, benches, trash cans, equipment storage boxes and target holders. 

    • Gunline Shooting is a smoke free environment.

    • Pick up your brass, you are allowed to take your own brass with you or deposit it in a blue bin. No steel, aluminum or .22lr cases are allowed to go in a blue bin. Steel, aluminum and .22lr cases must go in a grey bin. 

    • You are not allowed to take any brass out of a blue bin.

    • The shooter is the owner of their bullet from the time it leaves the barrel until where ever it lands.  Please check your data and keep barrels pointed at the intended targets at all times.

    • Members are responsible to clean up after themselves and guests. Deposit trash in the appropriate trash cans or pack it up and take it home. Keep your range clean! This includes brass, shells and any or all casings! 

    • Absolutely no sales of firearms or ammunition are permitted on range property. 

    • Any members under the age of 18 years must be under the constant supervision of an adult member. 

    • The Gunline Shooting Range may be closed to members anytime we are running matches or training classes. Check the schedule on our website and contact us to de-conflict. 

    • Gunline Shooting may refuse anyone the right to shoot and may order anyone to leave the range to enforce the range rules and preserve the safety of the range or the safety of its members. Repeat or gross offenders will have their membership revoked without refund. It is our intent to provide a first rate, safe, semi-private facility for the serious marksmen.
